Yes. The extension and the WalletLens app are free, with no paid tier, no holding limit and no ads inside the extension.
Do I need an account to use the extension?
No. There is no sign up, no email and no password. The extension reads your portfolio from walletlens.live in the same browser and keeps a copy in your browser's own extension storage.
Which browsers does the WalletLens extension work in?
Any Chromium browser that installs from the Chrome Web Store: Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and Arc, on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. Firefox and Safari are not supported; use walletlens.live there instead.
What can I track with the extension?
Everything you track in WalletLens: over 10,000 cryptocurrencies, stocks and ETFs, gold and silver, cash, bonds, property and any other asset you record. The toolbar shows them all as one net worth number with the 24 hour change.
Is my portfolio data private?
Yes. Your holdings stay in your browser. The extension has no analytics or telemetry. Its only outside requests fetch public prices, exchange rates, news and the Fear and Greed index, and they carry asset symbols, never your balances, amounts or addresses.
Does the extension work when walletlens.live is closed?
Yes. It saves your portfolio to extension storage, fetches live prices each time you open it, and checks your alerts every 15 minutes in the background, so the toolbar stays current even with no WalletLens tab open.
Can the WalletLens extension send price alerts?
Yes. Version 2.0 sends a desktop notification when a price crosses a level you set, when your net worth moves more than a percentage you choose in a day, and as an optional morning summary. Alerts are checked every 15 minutes while your browser is open.
Can I see my net worth in my own currency?
Yes. Pick from 15 currencies, including US dollars, euros, pounds, UAE dirhams, Saudi riyals and Egyptian pounds, and every value and alert in the extension follows it.
Can I back up to Google Drive from the extension?
Yes. Tap Connect on the Google Drive card and WalletLens saves your portfolio to your own Google Drive, encrypted, and keeps it backed up. On a new computer, Restore from Google Drive brings it straight back into the extension.
Do I have to connect an exchange, wallet or bank?
No. Nothing is connected: no exchange API key, no wallet signature and no bank login. You add holdings in WalletLens by screenshot, by voice in English or Arabic, from a spreadsheet or by hand.
How do I sync the extension with my phone?
Create a backup code in WalletLens on your phone and paste it into the extension with the import button. Your whole portfolio appears in the toolbar in seconds, with no account in between.
What permissions does the extension ask for?
Storage, to keep your portfolio and settings in the browser; alarms, to refresh the icon and check alerts every 15 minutes; notifications, for the alerts you turn on; and access to walletlens.live plus a short list of public price and market data services. It cannot read the other websites you visit.
